Bookkeeping

Clean books every week, not a scramble at quarter end

Takings, card settlements, delivery payouts and supplier bills, reconciled while they are still fresh.

Hospitality books move every day. Cash, card terminals, delivery platforms and dozens of supplier invoices all land at once. We keep them reconciled weekly so your reports, BAS and payroll all work from the same clean numbers.

What's included

  • POS takings matched to card settlements and cash banked
  • Delivery platform payouts reconciled, with commissions and fees recorded properly
  • Supplier bills and receipts captured with Dext or Hubdoc
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Month-end close, including stock and accruals where you need them
  • Bookkeeping in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks

Why it matters in hospitality

Margins in hospitality are thin, so small errors add up. A missed delivery fee, a duplicated supplier bill or unbanked cash can hide a real problem for months. Weekly reconciliation means you can trust what your reports tell you.

Once the books are clean, we can turn them into dashboards and monthly reports.

FAQs

Bookkeeping questions

How long do I need to keep business records?

The ATO says "You need to keep most records for 5 years", and notes that companies are required to keep records for 7 years. Employee records, such as time and wage records and pay slips, must be kept for 7 years under Fair Work rules.

How often should a venue's books be reconciled?

We reconcile weekly. Card settlements, delivery platform payouts and supplier bills are much easier to match while they are fresh, and weekly figures let you act on a bad week before it becomes a bad quarter.

Which software do you work with?

Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB for accounting, Dext and Hubdoc for bills and receipts, plus the POS, rostering and payroll systems most venues already run.

Can you catch up books that are behind?

Yes. We start by bringing the books up to date and fixing any GST or payroll coding problems, then move you to weekly bookkeeping so it does not happen again.
