A busy venue can still run short of cash. We build a simple forecast that shows the big payments coming up, and track the costs that decide whether a week was profitable.

What's included

  • 13-week cash flow forecast, including GST, PAYG, super and supplier terms
  • Food and beverage cost as a % of sales
  • Wage cost as a % of sales, by day and by venue
  • Budgets and targets you can track each month
  • Menu costing support
  • Quiet-season planning

Why it matters in hospitality

Rent, wages and stock are paid on different cycles to when the money comes in. A forecast makes those gaps visible weeks ahead. Try our cash flow calculators for a quick start.

FAQs

Cash flow and cost questions

Can I still add a surcharge for card payments?

Not on the major networks. The Reserve Bank decided on "removing surcharging on debit, prepaid and credit cards on the designated eftpos, Mastercard and Visa card networks", with most changes in effect from 1 October 2026. The ACCC notes that weekend and public holiday surcharges in hospitality are not affected by that change.

How do I work out my real food cost percentage?

Divide the cost of the ingredients by the price you keep, not the menu price. GST is one-eleventh of a GST-inclusive price, so a $44 dish leaves you $40. Our dish margin calculator does this for every dish on your menu.

How many covers do I need to break even?

Divide your weekly fixed costs by what each cover leaves after food, drink and other variable costs. The break-even covers calculator works this out by week and by day.

How far ahead should a venue forecast cash flow?

We build a rolling weekly forecast that looks at least a quarter ahead, so BAS, super, rent and quiet months show up well before they reach the bank account.
